Project Description
Frail, elderly and ill seniors never feel warm enough. Too many set the thermostat too high or run the oven with the door open all day, which causes electricity bills to skyrocket. Purchasing radiant heaters for these seniors is a simple solution that keeps them safe and warm. Over the past two years, the Senior Life Foundation has purchased and distributed 244 heaters through the City of Jacksonville’s Independent Living Program. The calls are already coming in! Be an angel, contribute today, and help us spread the warmth again this year.
Our clients are Duval County residents, 60 years of age or older with a total household income of $1,000 or less per month for one and $1,100 for two or more, who live independently in their own homes or apartments. Because the Senior Life Foundation is all-volunteer, 98 percent of donations go in direct assistance to senior citizens in our community.
The mission of the Senior Life Foundation is to help meet the urgent needs of low-income seniors in Duval County with a rapid response time and to help them live independently and with dignity. To learn more about the Senior Life Foundation, please visit our website
