Pencils and highlighters for a one-semester small group class of 10 adult students.
One consumable workbook and writing utensils for one low income adult student.
Two consumable workbooks and writing utensils for two low income adult students.
Five consumable workbooks for five low income adult students.
Learn to Readís mission is to increase literacy awareness and improve adult literacy skills in the Jacksonville area through a volunteer-based reading program. Since 1969, Learn to Read Jacksonville has served adults 18-years of age and older in Northeast Florida who read below the ninth grade level and aspire to learn how to read or improve their reading skills.
Over 650 adults in the community utilize Learn to Read services every year in order to achieve the common goals of getting a GED, becoming more employable, and helping their children with homework. Learn to Read offers students free instruction in reading, language, and math through one-on-one, small group, and computer assisted learning environments. This project would support the purchase of consumable workbooks for low income adult learners to use during our Summer 2015 semester.
