Project Description
Domestic violence changes lives every year in our community. Not only does domestic violence kill, it robs families of peace of mind and security. Domestic violence has no criteria of race, age, religion, economics, or zip code. Domestic violence does not just affect individual families; the impact of this epidemic can be felt throughout the community in increased violence in our schools, work places and neighborhoods. By protecting the victims of domestic abuse from additional violence and educating them about how they can attain a violence-free future for their families, Hubbard House is helping to decrease violence in Jacksonville.
All Hubbard House program offerings, whether aimed at prevention or intervention, contribute toward the agency's mission: Every Relationship Violence-Free.
It costs $25 a day to provide safe shelter. It is our goal to provide safe shelter and life saving services to more than 1,000 victims of domestic violence and their children this year.
