Project Description

The Project Prepare Independent Living Program is a case management program for homeless your, ages 16 to 21. The goal of the two-year prevention program is to help youth transition from a state of homelessness to one of stability and productivity. The program contributes to the cummunity by helping troubled youth svoid costly teen parenthood and criminal behavior leading to incarceration and unemployment.

The first objective of the Project Prepare team is to provide stable housing for each youth in crises. Once stabilized, case managers connect youth with other supporting community resources for education, employment, health care, long term residence and spiritual support.

The guiding principle of Project Prepare is that all youth can be motivated to become productive members of the community if they are empowered with coping strategiesm practical living skills and encouragement. All program participants are expected to attend school, work, perform community service and attend independent living skills training sessions.
