Project Description

The Parent Aide program is an evidence-based parent education and mentoring program provided to families identified as 'at-risk' for child abuse and neglect. Referrals are accepted from local organizations, social services agencies, schools and self-referrals. All services are provided free to the participants and on a voluntary basis with the goal of preventing child abuse. Visits occur weekly for a period of no less than 3 months and up to one year, depending on the needs of the family. Parent Aides are trained, professional case managers and the Parent Aide program is part of a national network of child abuse prevention centers ("CAP CENTERS") founded by and supported through the efforts of Exchange Club members as part of their national project, the prevention of child abuse. More information about this program is available at www.nationalexchangeclub.org.
